Returns & Refund Policy: TK Woodworking

1. Custom Nature of Work

At TK Woodworking, every piece is handcrafted to your specific requirements. Because these items are custom-built, all sales are final. We do not offer returns, exchanges, or refunds for "change of mind" or buyer's remorse once a project has commenced.

2. Deposit Policy

  • Non-Refundable Deposits: The initial 50% deposit required to begin your project is non-refundable. This deposit covers the cost of sourcing specialized lumber, materials, and the administrative time spent on your custom design.

  • Cancellation: If you choose to cancel your order before construction begins but after the deposit is paid, the deposit may be applied as a credit toward a future project at the sole discretion of TK Woodworking. Once wood has been cut or milled for your project, no credits or refunds will be issued.

3. Quality Assurance & Inspection

  • Final Approval: We take pride in our craftsmanship. Upon pickup or delivery, you will have the opportunity to inspect your piece. By taking possession of the item and paying the final 50% balance, you are confirming that the piece meets your expectations and the agreed-upon specifications.

  • Damages During Transport: TK Woodworking is not responsible for any damage that occurs during transit or loading if the customer is transporting the item themselves.

4. Natural Wood Characteristics (The "No-Return" Exceptions)

Wood is a natural, organic material. We do not offer refunds or returns for natural characteristics, including but not limited to:

  • Variations in wood grain, color, or "character" knots.

  • Small surface cracks (checking) that do not affect the structural integrity of the piece.

  • Slight movement or "breathing" of the wood due to changes in your home’s humidity or temperature.

5. Structural Warranty

In the rare event of a significant structural failure due to a craftsmanship defect (e.g., a joint failing or a major epoxy delamination), please contact us within 30 days of pickup. We will work with you to repair or replace the item at our discretion. This does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper cleaning, or exposure to extreme weather/heat.
